Dansk Reassigned to K-Wings, While Munroe Heads to AHL

KALAMAZOO- One goaltender will be heading to the American Hockey League, while another will be coming to the Kalamazoo Wings. Earlier this afternoon, the Columbus Blue Jackets reassigned Oscar Dansk from the Springfield Falcons to the K-Wings. The Falcons have also called up Scott Munroe. .

Currently in his rookie campaign, Dansk was selected by the Blue Jackets in the 2nd round (31st overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. For the past two seasons, Dansk played for the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League. Dansk had a well decorated 2013-14 season for the Otters. The netminder was an OHL Third Team All-Star and received the Dave Pinkney Trophy, for the lowest team goals-against average (2.39). By being reassigned to Kalamazoo, Dansk is reunited with forward Dane Fox, who was a teammate of Dansk's for the past two seasons with the Otters.

No stranger to international competition, Dansk earned Silver medals for Team Sweden in each of the past three World Junior Hockey Championships. In last year's championships, Dansk received the Best Goaltender Award during the tournament.

Munroe's reassignment to Springfield marks the ninth time this season that a member of the K-Wings has been either called-up or loaned to an AHL team.

Kalamazoo will begin the week and a four-game home stand this afternoon, Friday, November 28th with a special 5 p.m. face-off against the Fort Wayne Komets. Friday's game will be a 3, 2, 1 Countdown to Fun featuring $3 beers, $2 Pepsi products and $1 hot dogs courtesy of Winter's Sausage.

Tomorrow, Saturday, November 29th, the K-Wings will welcome the Toledo Walleye with a 7:30 p.m. face-off during Movember Mustache Party Night presented by Proper, Midwest Custom Embroidery, Urban Hair Salon, Full Blown Color, Kal-Blue and The Traveler Beer Company .

To go along with the game promotion, the K-Wings will host a Mustache Mile Walk, which will occur at 5:15 p.m. this Saturday. Ticket packages for the game will be $25, $21, and $14. Proceeds from the ticket packages are going to the West Michigan Cancer Center. Ticket packages include a ticket to the game, commemorative t-shirt, mustache and entry to the pre-game Mustache Mile Walk.

The K-Wings will conclude the week on Sunday, November 30th with a 3 p.m. face-off versus the Orlando Solar Bears during Family Hockey Day in the 'ZOO. The first 500 kids (ages 12 and under) will eat FREE and receive a K-Wings Drawstring Bag, presented by United Healthcare. Sunday will also be Superhero day and fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite Superhero. Following the game the K-Wings will host a post game skate with the players, presented by United Healthcare (skate rental if needed is $3).

Between now and Wednesday, December 10th fans that come to any K-Wings home game can register to win two tickets to the Detroit Red Wings game on December 16th versus the Columbus Blue Jackets. The prize also includes a special meet and greet after the game in the Olympia Club.

Tickets for all K-Wings home games are currently on sale at Wings Stadium Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster locations, including www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000.

Fans that plan on attending multiple games can avoid service fees plus enjoy a discount from the single-game price by purchasing a 12, 24 or 36-game flexi-plan.
