Indy Fuel News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - Rookie forward Jamie Wise was recalled by the AHL's Rockford IceHogs and first-year defenseman Dillon Fouriner was reassigned to Rockford by the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks, the Indy Fuel announced Friday. Both players participated in training camp with the IceHogs this season, but have yet to appear in an AHL game in their respective careers.
A 6'0", 205 lb. right-handed shooting forward from Stouffville, Ontario, Canada, Wise currently ranks tied for 12th on the Fuel roster in scoring with one goal and four points to his credit in 12 appearances for Indy this season. In his final campaign at the collegiate level, Wise, 23, potted 21 goals and 45 points in 26 games played for Toronto's Ryerson University Rams in 2013-14.
The Chicago Blackhawks' second-round selection (48th overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Fouriner, a native of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, has yet to tally his first professional point in 12 games played this season for the Fuel. Prior to his professional career, Fournier, 20, piled up a combined 31 goals, 108 points, 212 penalty minutes and a career +19 rating in 207 appearances spread over four full seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Lewiston MAINEiacs (2010-11) and Rouyn-Noranda Huskies (2011-2014).
The Fuel also announced Friday that rookie defenseman Adam McKenzie signed an ECHL contract with the team. A 5'11", 178 lb. left-handed shooter from Petaluma, California, McKenzie, 24, collected 22 goals and 75 points in 146 appearances at the NCAA level for the Air Force Academy in four seasons from 2010 to 2014. In the junior ranks, McKenzie scored 13 goals and 59 points in 113 games played for the NAHL's Wenatchee Wild from 2008 to 2010 with 98 combined penalty minutes and a +32 rating.
Next up for the Fuel, it's a Friday showdown with the Cincinnati Cyclones with the opening faceoff set for 7:35 pm on "Blackout Friday" at the Fairgrounds Coliseum. In honor of "Black Friday," fans are encouraged to wear black clothing to the game and the first 3,000 fans through the gates will receive a complimentary 2014 Indy Fuel "Blackout" T-shirt. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, online via Ticketmaster.com or via the Fairgrounds Coliseum box office during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Full television coverage of Friday's game begins at 7:30 pm on HTSN with Jim Mirabello on the call and radio coverage begins at 7:20 pm on CBS Sports 1430 AM with Fuel broadcaster Tony Brown providing the play-by-play.
In 2014-15, the Indy Fuel, the proud "AA" affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and AHL's Rockford IceHogs, drop the puck on their first season in the ECHL.
