42 WHL Alumni Named CIS Academic All-Canadians

CALGARY, AB - The Western Hockey League is proud to announce that 42 players were named Canadian Interuniversity Sport Academic All-Canadians for the 2013-14 season.
This distinction is given to all CIS student-athletes who achieve an academic average of 80 per cent or higher while representing their institution on a varsity team.
The University of Alberta led all schools with nine players that achieved this honour, while St. Francis Xavier had six players. In total, there were 16 different institutions that these players attended. These players were headlined by the 2013-14 CIS goaltender of the year, Jacob DeSerres, who plays for the University of Calgary Dinos.
