Danville Dashers News Release

The Danville Dashers and the Steel City Warriors went to battle on this Thanksgiving eve at the David S. Palmer arena in Danville. Things started off hot in Danville when Clint Atkinson and Nicola Levesque went toe to toe just three minutes in. After that scrap the Dashers picked up some steam and four minutes later Jonathon Juliano had an open shot from the right circle and made the most of it, forcing Danville to a 1-0 lead. Then, at 13:26 of the first period Gehertt Sargis found a pass from A.J. Tesoriero and put it five-hole past the Steel City Goalie, Kalczynski. Zach Zamora also received an assist on the Sargis goal.

The Dashers took a 2-0 lead into the second and opened the game up to a 4-0 lead of the course of the period. J.D. Gordon wired a slap shot past Bryan Kalczynski just 2:12 into the period to push the Dashers lead to three. Brian Soskin and Jonathon Juliano received the assist on the Gordon goal. Then 5 minutes after the J.D. Gordon goal the Dashers, coming off of a power play found the stick of Justin Brausen. Brausen walked into the zone, toe dragged around a defenseman and blew a wrist shot past the glove of Kalczynski to put the Dashers up 4-0. Danville took that four goal lead into the locker room to end the second period.

The Dashers didn't let up as they entered the third, beating Steel City 7-2. Jonathon Juliano scored his second of the night early in the period. Steel city cut the deficit to three, with two quick goals of their own. However, at 8:42 Justin Brausen netted his second goal as well and pushed the lead to 6-2. Then with 26 seconds left in the contest Brausen buried his third goal of the evening to give him the hat trick. The Danville Dashers are back in action Friday and Saturday night against the Dayton Demonz at the David S. Palmer Arena. The puck drops at 7:05pm on both of those nights.
