Winterhawks to Release Fundraising Calendar for Humane Society this Week

If you're looking for a unique holiday gift for the hockey fan in your family, the Winterhawks have teamed up with the Oregon and Southwest Washington Humane Societies for a special 2015 fundraising calendar.

Set to be released at Friday's Burgerville Daylight Classic game, the calendar features photos of Winterhawks players and coaches with cats and dogs. Proceeds from the sales of the calendars will go to both the Oregon and Southwest Washington Humane Societies.

"Animals are one of my true passions, and I've always had great admiration for the work done by the Humane Society," said Portland Winterhawks General Manager & Head Coach Jamie Kompon. "I'm excited we're able to partner with them and hope this calendar can assist in their mission."

"We are so grateful that the Winterhawks are thinking of our pets here at Oregon Humane Society for this calendar," said Barbara Baugnon, Marketing Communications Director for the Oregon Humane Society. "In addition to raising some much needed funds, it also helps people remember that shelters have great pets to adopt."

The calendars will be available beginning at Friday's Burgerville Daylight Classic game at the Winterhawks' team store in Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The calendar will be a limited edition collectors' item, with only 1,000 being produced. They will be sold for $20, with proceeds going to the Oregon and Southwest Washington Humane Societies. There will also be a limited number of team-signed calendars available at later games, with those set to sell for $100. Fans can also purchase them at the team store online by visiting Winterhawks.com, then clicking on the "Shop" tab.
