B.C. Lions News Release

(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced today that defensive tackle Jabar Westerman, receiver Kito Poblah and long-snapper Mike Benson have signed contract extensions with the club.

Westerman was the club's first-round selection (third overall) in the 2012 CFL Draft and will enter his fourth season as a Lion in 2015. The Eastern Michigan grad enjoyed a solid year along the defensive line with 17 tackles and three sacks over 16 regular season appearances, eight of which were as a starter.

Joining the Lions in a trade with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers this past offseason, Poblah earned a regular spot on the offence in 2014 and notched 15 receptions for 182 yards and a touchdown during his first tour of duty with the club. The Montreal native will return for his fifth CFL season and second as a Leo in 2015.

Benson joined the Lions midway through the 2014 campaign when injuries sidelined veteran long-snapper Jordan Matechuk. The former Edmonton Eskimo and Toronto Argonaut made his Lions debut on September 5th in Ottawa and finished the year with four special teams tackles.

Season tickets for 2015 are on sale now. Whether you're renewing your current seats or signing up for 2015 there's no better time than right now to take advantage of savings up to 27% on the price of single game tickets. Early-bird renewals and new season ticketholders purchasing before December 16th can also secure their seats at 2014 pricing.
