Americans Win Fifth Straight, Defeat Brampton 4-1

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans won their fifth straight on Saturday night, defeating the Brampton Beast by a score of 4-1 at Allen Event Center on Teddy Bear Toss Night in Allen.
Jack Combs scored two goals, his team leading 8th and 9th of the season, to extend his point streak to eleven games. Austin Smith extended his goal scoring streak to three games, netting his third of the year, which turned out to be the game winner for Allen. Gary Steffes added his 7th of the season in the Allen win.
With the Allen victory, the Americans (8-3-0-0) are tied with Tulsa for second place in the division with 16 points each, one behind first place Quad City, who leads the Central Division with 17 points and a 7-3-2-1 record. Riley Gill won his fifth straight game and earned the 100th victory of his pro career. Gill stopped 27 of 28 shots in the Allen victory.
"We are playing really well right now and with a ton of confidence," said Allen Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson. "If you take out the first game of the year against Tulsa, we are giving up the fewest goals against in the league."
The three stars of the game, as selected by Tommy Daniels, were as follows; Austin Smith the third star with a goal and an assist, Riley Gill the number two star picking up his fifth straight win, and Jack Combs with two goals was the number one star.
The Americans travel to Tulsa, Missouri and Wichita next week for a four games in five nights stretch. Allen will play in Tulsa on Thanksgiving night. Tickets for the Americans next home game on November 3rd against Tulsa are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com.
