Red Deer Rebels News Release

In their first of three straight games this weekend, the Rebels looked to even their season with the Tigers after a 4-2 loss this past Tuesday in Medicine Hat.

FIRST PERIOD

The Tigers top line struck just 25 seconds into the game as Steven Owre and Trevor Cox teamed up to set up Cole Sanford's 16th goal of the year. Medicine Hat took a very early 1-0 lead.

SECOND PERIOD

After playing well through most of the opening frame, the Rebels tied things up early in the second. Adam Musil's one-timer overpowered Marek Langhamer just enough to cross the goal line for Musil's 8th goal of the year. Presten Kopeck and Tyler Sandhu assisted on the powerplay goal at the 5:28 mark.

THIRD PERIOD

The Rebels took a one goal lead early in the third, also via the one-timer. Meyer Nell set up Scott Feser who blasted home his 7th of the year. The powerplay 2-1 goal came just 24 seconds into the period. Brett Cote collected his team leading 22nd point on the goal.

Moments after a questionable delay of game penalty to the Rebels had expired, the Tigers drew even. Matt Bradley blasted home his 5th of the year at 7:27 to make it a 2-2 game.

The fans at the Enmax Centrium erupted Evan Polei powered his way through a check and went top shelf on Langhamer for his 10th goal of the year. Wyatt Johnson picked up his team co-leading 22nd point with the lone assist. 3-2 Rebels with 4:15 to play.

Wyatt Johnson added an empty net goal at 19:03, set up by Feser and Conner Bleackley, to put the wraps on a 4-2 Rebels win.
