Kings Release Schedule Information

November 21, 2014 - Prospect League (Prospect)
Champion City Kings News Release

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Champion City Kings will open up their second season May 27 at home against the Richmond RiverRats at Carleton Davidson Stadium.

This year's schedule structure is much different than last season, thanks to the addition of a 12th team in the Prospect League that creates a more balanced schedule. Instead of the odd travel schedules, one-game series, and random (and rare) off days that a schedule with an odd number of teams affords, this year's slate of games includes a much more "normal" setup. The entire league will have every Monday off with very few exceptions and nearly every series is two games.

Kings fans will also notice a pair of new teams in the Prospect League this year. Kokomo, Ind., added the Jackrabbits, who will play at a brand-new stadium that will open in the Spring and compete in the West Division. Jamestown, N.Y., will take the place of the departed Lorain County Ironmen and compete in the East Division.

The 2015 Kings schedule features a number of weekend games for Springfield-area baseball fans to enjoy, including four Friday home games, six Saturday home games, and eight Sunday home games.

The longest homestand of the year will be a seven-day, six-game stretch from June 4 through June 10. Champion City's will have two, season-long six-game road trips from May 28 to June 3 and June 20 to June 26. The Kings will finish the regular season at home against Butler August 6.
