John White

Edmonton Eskimos running back John White was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the Division Semifinals. White racked up 148 yards from scrimmage on 21 touches as the Eskimos advanced past the Roughriders 18-10 at Commonwealth Stadium.

White was the Eskimos' focal point on offence with his 148 yards accounting for 64 per cent of the Eskimos' total offence.

The product of Utah carried the ball 17 times totaling 134 yards (an average of 7.1 per carry) and added a pair of receptions for 14 yards.

The Torrance, California native finished fourth in the league in rushing this season with 852 yards while averaging 6.9 yards per carry and scoring a pair of majors.

Playing in his second season in the CFL, this is White's second Player of the Week award of his career. His first came earlier this year in Week 14.

Montreal Alouettes defensive back Jerald Brown was named the Defensive Player of the Week for the Division Semifinals. Brown collected five tackles, an interception, a knockdown, a fumble recovery and a touchdown in Montreal's convincing 50-17 win over the BC Lions.

Brown intercepted a Kevin Glenn pass on the very first play of the second quarter and returned it eight yards to the Lions' 23-yard line. In the fourth, the former standout from Glenville State collected a fumbled ball by Lions running back Stefan Logan and returned it 103 yards for the major.

The five-year veteran finished the season third on the Alouettes with 65 tackles and was tied for first on the team with four fumble recoveries.

With just under seven minutes remaining in the second quarter, the Rowell, Texas native sent back a Josh Bartel punt for a touchdown and a 16-0 lead. This marked the second time this season that he has returned a touchdown against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Lawrence, a former Missouri Tiger, returned seven punts for 104 yards and added three kickoff returns for 52 yards.

This was the Montreal, Quebec native's first multi-sack game of his career.
