QUACK TRACKS

Sudden Death

The Mallards last weekend suffered back-to-back overtime losses in Brampton and allowed the winning goal less than a minute into sudden death in both games. The Mallards surrendered a goal 21 seconds into overtime to fall 2-1 last Friday and dropped a 5-4 decision yesterday after giving up a goal at 47 seconds of the extra period.

Working Overtime

The Mallards have gone to overtime in each of their last three games and earned just one point in each of those three tilts. The weekend's sudden death defeats followed a 4-3 shootout loss last Sunday in Brampton.

Brampton Battle

With yesterday's overtime loss the Mallards finished a stretch of five consecutive games in Brampton with a record of 2-0-3. The Mallards earned seven points over the five games compared to six for the Beast.

Tight

The Mallards are locked in a three-way tie for second place in the Central Division with Tulsa and Rapid City. The top six teams in the division are separated by just two points. Division-leading Allen has 12 points; fifth place Missouri and Wichita have ten.

Changeup

The Mallards Wednesday night play on home ice and face an opponent other than Brampton for the first time since falling to the Cincinnati Cyclones 5-4 at the iWireless Center on November 1.

Centralized

The Mallards have suffered just one regulation loss in their first eight games (4-1-3) against Central Division opponents.

On the Road

The Mallards are unbeaten in regulation- 3-0-3- on the road this season.

Hot Shots

The Mallards averaged 45.4 shots over their five games in Brampton and have climbed to second in the ECHL in shots per game (35.3). The Mallards have taken at least 44 shots in three straight games and four of their last five.

Red Light District

While the Mallards matched a team season high by allowing five goals yesterday, they do rank eighth in the ECHL in goals allowed per game (2.9).

Special Teams

After going 2-for-6 on the power play yesterday and 4-for-13 over their five games in Brampton the Mallards now rank sixth in the ECHL in power play efficiency (20.7 percent). The Mallards allowed only two goals on 19 Beast power plays during those five games and have climbed to eighth in the league (84.2 percent) in penalty killing.

Foxy

Justin Fox is riding an eight-game point scoring streak (5-5-10), the Mallards' longest this season.

Streaking

Kevin Baker is on a six-game point scoring streak (1-6-7) and a five-game assist streak (six assists).

Super Mario

Mario Lamoureux has piled up ten points (four goals and six assists) in his last ten games.

Between the Pipes

Evan Mosher has moved into a tie for fourth place in the ECHL in save percentage (.926) while starting three straight games in goal. Mosher is unbeaten in regulation (1-0-3) in November with a 2.68 goals against average and .931 save percentage this month.

Dynamic Duo

Jeff Lee and Joe Perry both had eight points (four goals and four assists) in the Mallards' five games against Brampton.

First

Nicholas Rioux yesterday picked up his first point of the season- an assist.

Head to Head

Wednesday's game is the first of eight this season between the Mallards and Oilers. All-time, the Mallards have gone 8-7-0 overall against Tulsa and 6-2-0 on home ice. The Mallards have gone 2-1-0 against the Rush this season. The Flock has gone 14-9-2 all-time against Rapid City. The Mallards have posted a 8-4-0 record at home against the Rush. Sunday the Mallards kick-off a 15-game season series against the Mavericks. All-time, the Mallards have turned in a 16-19-1 overall record against the Mavericks and have gone 9-10-1 in Independence.

Ins and Outs

Goaltender Parker Milner today returned to the Mallards after signing a professional tryout agreement with the American Hockey League's Iowa Wild last Tuesday. The Mallards today released Brad Fogal after signing Fogal as an emergency back-up goaltender last Thursday.

Fans again this season will enjoy $1 hot dogs and beers from iWireless Center concession stands during all Friday home games. 97X will follow in the spirit of the evening by presenting hot dog-themed intermission entertainment.

Lighting on the Commons

Fans who attend Lighting on the Commons on John Deere Commons just before the Mallards' game against the Rush will receive a free youth ticket with the purchase of an adult ticket to that Mallards tilt.

ON THE AIR

Fox Sports Radio 1230 is the radio home of Mallards Hockey Presented by Genesis Power Sports Performance. Mallards games broadcast on AM 1230 also stream live online at www.wfxn.net . A limited number of Mallards games- including the Mallards' tilts Friday against Rapid City and Sunday against Missouri- will not air on Fox Sports Radio 1230 due to conflicts with University of Illinois basketball and football and Green Bay Packer football. ECHL-TV pay-per-view video webcasts and free audio webcasts of all Mallards games are also available at myqcmallards.net.

The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period.
