Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa-Defenseman Ethan Spaxman will join the Waterloo Black Hawks following a weekend trade with the Bloomington Thunder, the Hawks announced Monday.
The Brantford, Ontario native will turn 18 on Thanksgiving and is committed to Merrimack College. During a dozen games with the expansion Thunder, he recorded five assists. The 6'3", 191-pound blue-liner assisted on the first goal in Bloomington Thunder history and was tied for the club's scoring lead among defenseman at the end of October. Spaxman was previously on Fargo's protected list and appeared in two games for the Force in 2013/14.
In exchange for Spaxman, Waterloo sent defenseman Jeremy Davies to Bloomington. Over 11 appearances for the Hawks, the first year defenseman had recorded a goal and three assists.
Waterloo's next game is on the road Friday against the Muskegon Lumberjacks. The team returns to Young Arena on Thursday, November 27th for the annual Thanksgiving contest against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Good seats are still available from the Domino's Black Hawks Box Office by calling (319) 291-7680 or online from waterlooblackhawks.com.
