Rapids Offer Holiday Pack and Photo Opportunity for 2015

The Colorado Rapids are sticking close to the script when it comes to the club's reputation for value-added fan incentives - more options and more value for the fans in 2015.

For the first time, holiday shoppers will have the opportunity to give the gift of a night out with the Rapids. It's a novel (and rare) opportunity for fans to pick up a great value on single game tickets way in advance of the season and, coupled with a special hat premium, the package makes a great gift.

For just $35, the Holiday Pack offers a single game ticket, a special knit Colorado for Life beanie. The beanies will be ready to present at Christmas, along with a voucher for a ticket to any home game (other than Memorial Day or July 4), to be selected after the season schedule comes out.

"In the past we've done a three-game plan," says Sean Ream, vice president of ticket sales and service. "But we listened to our customers last year and found that when giving a gift, there were a lot of people that wanted to give a night out to a big Rapids fan. Picking up single game tickets like this usually is not possible prior to a season, but we wanted to do something special for our fans and are making it available for a short period of time."

Ream said it's extremely easy for the gift recipient to trade their voucher for a game ticket by calling in and speaking with a Rapids ticket service representative. There will also be an opportunity to add on additional games at a discount to build up to the three-game plan offered in past years. The Rapids regular season runs March through October.

Season ticket members can have their photos on players' jersey next August

The Rapids have unveiled an exciting fan participation program whereby full season ticket members will be able to have their photographs emblazoned on the actual jerseys that the players wear in all games during the month of August.

"The Rapids and MLS are taking on a unique project that is inspired by something the Rapids did several years ago where we put the names of season ticket holders on our jerseys," says Sean Ream, Rapids vice president of ticket sales and service. "But now we are going a step further."

Submitted photos will be printed into the numbers that are applied onto the Rapids jerseys and worn by the players next August. At that time, fans will also be able to purchase jerseys with the special photo numbers from the Rapids Team Store.

"From afar it may look like camouflage, but up close you will be able to see little tiny pictures of our season ticket members' faces inside the number," Ream says.

The program, open to fans who have full season tickets, will be limited to the first 2,500 photos submitted during the month of January. Members will be able to go to a link where they can upload a photo that will appear on a specific part of the jersey number.

"It will be like going on the web to pick an airline seat," says Ream. "For example, I could pick No. 7 and there will be boxes where the pictures can be uploaded. If you choose No. 7, then you will be on all jerseys that carry a "7" on it.

Fans interested in buying season tickets or renewing from last year in order to take part in the program can do so by calling 303-825-GOAL no later than 5 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 25. Eligible season ticket members will be contacted thereafter with instructions on how many photos they can submit and how to submit them.
