Springfield Falcons Assign Defeneseman Mike Dipaolo to Kalamazoo

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons have assigned defenseman Mike DiPaolo to the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL, Falcons Director of Hockey Operations Bruce Landon announced today.

DiPaolo, 20, signed a one-year American Hockey League contract with the Falcons prior to this season, but has not appeared in a game due to an injury sustained in training camp.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound defenseman split the 2013-14 season with the Charlottetown Islanders of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League. He earned 4 points (4a) and racked up 165 penalty minutes in 51 appearances with the Islanders. Over three seasons with the Sting, the Brantford, Ontario native skated in 64 games and registered one goal along with 75 penalty minutes. DiPaolo started his career in the Ontario Junior Hockey League with the Burlington Cougars, collecting four points (4a) in 22 appearances.
