Binghamton Senators News Release
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Despite carrying a 2-1 lead into the final period, the Binghamton Senators fell 3-2 to the Norfolk Admirals in the second of back-to-back contests versus its division rival.
Nic Kerdiles gave the hosts a 1-0 lead 11:39 into the opening period when he managed to redirect a power-play shot from Louis Leblanc past the B-Sens Andrew Hammond for his third goal of the year. That score held for the remainder of the period as Norfolk's Yann Danis, who made his first appearance of the season, stopped all 13 B-Sens shots in the opening 20 minutes of play.
Shane Prince evened the score at 1-1 just shy of the three minute mark of the second when he took a stretch pass from Alex Guptill and beat Danis high for his fourth tally of the season. Alex Grant gave the B-Sens its lone lead of the game at 12:36 of the period when he blasted home a puck from the right faceoff circle past Danis. Hammond turned aside all six of the Admirals' shots in the second giving Binghamton a 2-1 lead heading into the final intermission.
Brendan Bell redirected a shot from David Steckel past Hammond 5:47 into the third to even the score 2-2 before Leblanc sent a shot off an Admirals' faceoff win to the back of the net with less than eight minutes to play giving the Admirals the come-from-behind 3-2 win.
Danis stopped 37 of 39 Binghamton shots for his first win of the season while Hammond allowed three goals on 34 shots faced in the losing effort.
Binghamton returns to action next weekend with back-to-back home games. First the B-Sens host the Manchester Monarchs Friday, November 21, before entertaining the Albany Devils on Saturday. Both games are scheduled to start at 7:05p.m. Tickets for either game are available by calling the Binghamton Senators Executive Office at (607) 722-7367 or stopping in Monday-Friday between 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m. Fans can also purchase tickets through the Floyd L.
