Belleville Bulls News Release

OTTAWA, ON - The Belleville Bulls traveled to our nations capital for their first of eight games between the Ottawa 67's. Despite jumping out to an early lead, the 67's scored 4 un-answered goals on their way to a 5th consecutive win on home ice.

The Bulls got out to a fast start when Jordan Subban beat Liam Herbst just over 7 minutes in. Subban's 11th of the season from Remi Elie and Brett Welychka extends his point streak to 13 games. Ottawa had a couple power play opportunities in the opening frame but Charlie Graham made some big save to keep his club in front after the first 20 minutes.

The second period was a different story as the 67's picked up the pace. Jeremiah Addison buried the equalizer on the man advantage from Nathan Todd and Nevin Guy. Shots favoured the home team 23-15 after two periods of play.

Ottawa continued to find the back of the net in the third. Travis Barron scored his 5th of the season at 3:27. Eight minutes later Travis Konency made it 3-1 scoring on the power play. Defenceman Evan de Haan, who was acquired earlier this month from the Sudbury Wolves, scored his first as a 67 to seal the win for his team. Herbst made 22 saves while Graham made 36 and was named the games 3rd star.

With the loss the Bulls fall to 12-6-1-1.

The Bulls return home on Saturday night to take on the defending OHL champion Guelph Storm in our annual Pucks 4 Pawz night with Hillcrest Animal Hospital in support of Fixed Fur Life. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on a signed, game-worn Charlie Graham jersey and pictures of some of your favourite Bulls with animals adopted through Fixed Fur Life. Tickets are still available, stop by or call the Bulls Box Office at (613) 966-8338 for more information.
