Ho-Sang Helps Lead IceDogs to Victory

November 14, 2014 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Niagara IceDogs News Release

The Niagara IceDogs extended their winning streak to four games with a 2-1 win over the Erie Otters.

After a scoreless first period, the IceDogs struck first when Carter Verhaeghe jumped on a rebound to put away his team-leading seventh goal of the season.

The IceDogs added to the lead just 18 seconds later when newly acquired Josh Ho-Sang set-up Zach Wilkie at the point. Wilkie wired a slap shot past Otters goalie Devin Williams to give the IceDogs a 2-0 lead.

Alex DeBrincat beat Brandon Hope in the third to make it a one-goal game at 4:28, but that's as close as Erie would get. Hope was tremendous, making 45 saves in the win.

With over two periods of shutout hockey tonight, the IceDogs broke the franchise record for longest shutout streak. They broke the previous record of 169:31, setting the new one at 204:36.

The IceDogs are right back at it tomorrow night when they travel to Peterborough to take on the Petes.
