Rockland Boulders 2015 Schedule Released

(POMONA, N.Y.) - The Rockland Boulders will begin defense of their 2014 Can Am League championship on May 21st, 2015 at Provident Bank when they host the Trois-Rivieres Aigles. Their 2015 schedule, released today by the Can Am League, is a 97-game slate which will feature 55 home games for the Boulders as well as three new Can-Am opponents.

The Boulders will start the season at home when they host the Aigles in a four-game set (May 21-24) at Provident Bank Park. It is the fifth straight year in which Rockland will start the season at home. The opening home stand continues with another four-game series against new league opponent Ottawa May 25-28. The eight straight games to open the year also marks the longest home stand of the season.

Rockland goes on the road for the first time on May 29 when they make the short trip to Montclair, New Jersey for a four-game series against the New Jersey Jackals. This will be the first matchup between the two teams who met in last year's League Championship Series.

The 54 home date schedule also features eight Saturday home games along with home games on Memorial Day, Father's Day, and Independence Day. All game times and promotions will be announced at a later date. Rockland will also host the NYPD in an exhibition contest at Provident Bank Park on Saturday, May 16.

Added to the Can-Am League in 2015 will be three new teams: the Ottawa Champions, the yet-to-be-named Sussex franchise, and a road team that will play an abbreviated schedule. The seven teams will compete for four postseason berths in the Can-Am League. A pair of five-game series will take place with the winners advancing to a best-of-five Championship Series.

For the fourth consecutive season, interleague play with the American Association will be a part of the 2015 slate. Rockland will host the Gary SouthShore RailCats (June 4-7), the Kansas City T-Bones (June 29-July 1), and the Fargo-Moorehead Redhawks (July 23-25). The team will them make their annual Midwest trip August 8-16 when the travel to play the Amarillo Sox (Aug. 8-10), Joplin (Mo.) Blasters (Aug. 11-13), and Lincoln Saltdogs (Aug. 14-16). Last season the Boulders went 13-6 against the American Association, including a franchise-best 6-4 on the road.

In 2014, the Rockland Boulders set a franchise record for wins (56), clinching the regular season title at home on September 1 before ultimately winning the first Can-Am League Championship in team history.
