Storm Drop Third Straight on the Road

November 13, 2014 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Island Storm News Release

(Charlottetown, PE) When the Island STORM looked at the start of their 2014-15 schedule they thought it might be tough....and they were right. After opening the season November 6th at Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown with a win over the Saint John Mill Rats, the STORM have lost three road games, the latest Thursday night in Windsor 100-85. And it doesn't get any easier as they head to London for a game against the Lightning on Saturday night and then back to the Maritimes for three more road games before finally getting back to the friendly confines of Eastlink Centre on Sunday afternoon November 30th against the Mill Rats.

Nick Evans led the way for the STORM Thursday in Windsor with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Brandon Robinson had a double-double with 14 pts and 11 rebounds while Sammy Zeglinsky scored 10 points to go with 6 assists and Doug McKinney scored 8 points.

Gary Gibson was way over his season average (9 pts) with 22 on the night for Windsor while Kevin Loiselle had 17 points to go with 9 rebounds.

The STORM were up 1 after the first quarter but got outscored 27-19 in the second and just couldn't recover. The STORM outrebounded the Express 49-40 in the game but shot below their expectations of 38% from the floor and 24% from the 3 point line.

The STORM are looking forward to the London game on Saturday night as traditionally they have been the rare NBL Canada team to play well against the Lightning on their home court. Game time Saturday in London is at 8 pm (AST).
