Indy Fuel News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, announced Thursday that forward Pete Massar was placed on the 21-day injured reserve list, retroactive to October 29th, with a lower-body injury. A Williston, Vermont native, the former University of Vermont winger has one goal and three points to his credit this season in five appearances for the Fuel and has not appeared in a game since Indy's 4-2 road loss to Evansville on October 25th.
A 5'9", 185 lb. right-handed shooting forward, Massar, 25, joins Fuel forward Johnny McGuire (broken jaw) and defensemen Ildar Telyakov (upper-body injury) and Kirill Gotovets (head injury) on the 21-day injured list and is eligible to return to action on November 19th. Massar made his professional debut with two appearances for the Missouri Mavericks in the 2014 CHL playoffs, scoring two goals. Prior to his professional career, Massar notched nine goals and 17 points in 70 collegiate appearances for Vermont and Clarkson University from 2009 to 2014.
The Fuel also announced Thursday that forward Jamie Wise has been moved to the team's reserve list alongside forward Travis Ouellette. On Thursday, Indy also activated recently acquired forward Garett Bembridge, added via trade on Wednesday from Missouri in exchange for future considerations. Just the third skater with veteran status on the Fuel's roster, Bembridge will wear number 41 for Indy.
Next up for the Fuel, it's a Saturday tilt vs. the Wheeling Nailers on "Military Appreciation Night" with the opening faceoff set for 7:35 pm at the Fairgrounds Coliseum. The Fuel will be wearing specialty military-themed jerseys on Saturday that will be auctioned off to fans following the game with a portion of the net proceeds going to "Operation Hat Trick" to support America's wounded warriors. All ticket holders will receive a mini-American flag and all active-duty military members and veterans will receive a $5 concessions voucher and commemorative gift with paid admission. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster locations, online at Ticketmaster.com and at the Fairgrounds Coliseum box office during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Full TV coverage of Saturday's game begins at 7:30 pm on Saturday on HTSN with Jim Mirabello on the call and full radio coverage gets underway with the "Jose Cuervo Pregame Show" at 7:20 pm, live on CBS Sports 1430 AM with Fuel broadcaster Tony Brown providing the play-by-play.
In 2014-15, the Indy Fuel, the proud "AA" affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and AHL's Rockford IceHogs, drop the puck on their first season in the ECHL.
