MOLINE, Ill. (November 13, 2014) - The annual Lighting on the Commons will kick off the holiday season in downtown Moline next Saturday, November 22 and this year the festivities on John Deere Commons will be followed by the Quad City Mallards' 7:05 p.m. game at the iWireless Center.
All who attend Lighting on the Commons, which culminates in the tree lighting ceremony and fireworks beginning at 6:00 p.m., will receive a free kids ticket to the Mallards' game against the Rapid City Rush with the purchase of an adult ticket to that contest.
"Lighting on the Commons is a holiday tradition in the Quad Cities and this year we are thrilled to be able to make this special ticket offer to everyone attending the festivities," said Mallards president Bob McNamara. "Heading to the iWireless Center to see the Mallards play will be a wonderful way for many families to cap off the evening."
Admission to Lighting on the Commons is free. The event kicks off at 3:30 p.m. and will feature tractor-drawn wagon rides, children's activities, refreshments, historic trolley rides, live music and more. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also make a special appearance.
After the lighting and fireworks have concluded patrons can walk over to the iWireless Center box office to take advantage of the special ticket offer and get their seats for the Mallards' match-up with the Rush. Tickets are available for $10, $16, $20 and $28.
