Belleville Bulls News Release

BELLEVILLE, ON - Wednesday night the Belleville Bulls and the Kingston Frontenacs will continue their East Division rivalry at the Yardmen Arena. The Bulls will be looking to bounce back after dropping two in a row over the weekend including a 7-6 overtime loss to the Sudbury Wolves. The third of eight meetings between the two clubs is set for 7:05pm.

The Frontenacs avoided their second straight home loss on Saturday night thanks to forward Ryan Kujawinski who scored with just 68 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime against the Ottawa 67's. Following a scoreless overtime period Kujawinski scored the shootout winner to give his club the much-needed two points.

Kingston is led by veteran winger Spencer Watson who has potted 11 goals and added 10 assists in 16 games played. 1994-born Robert Polesello has chipped in with 9 goals and 9 assists in 16 games played. Goaltender Lucas Peressini, who continues to climb the list of top OHL puck stoppers has 2.37 goals against average and is expected to start again between the pipes for the Fronts.

"I would expect their best game, they have played strongly over the last few weeks and I would expect tonight to be a real tough battle and we are going to have to be at our best." said Head Coach George Burnett Wednesday morning.

The Belleville Bulls are hungry for a win after only earning one of a possible four points during their weekend northern road trip. Defenceman Stephen Harper, who has jumped up front in the absence of Jake Marchment has stepped up scoring 3 goals over the last two games. Czech Republic import David Tomasek picked up 4 helpers in the overtime loss to the Sudbury Wolves.

Vancouver Canucks prospect Jordan Subban extended his point streak to 11 games posting a goal and two assists over the weekend. Subban continues to sit atop of the OHL's defenceman scoring list.

After missing 12 games with an upper body injury, rookie defenceman Jack Hanley returns to the line up tonight to help an undermanned Bulls club.

"We are hoping that things go well with his return. It is not an easy game to come back with but he is hungry to get in there." added Burnett.

Forwards Chad Heffernan and Adam Laishram and rookie netminder Connor Hicks are all out with undisclosed injuries. Olivier Lafreniere has been called up from Wellington to back up the starting Charlie Graham.

The Bulls look to make three in a row against their foes from the east, puck drop is set for 7:05pm. You can get full play-by-play coverage with Jack Miller on 800 CJBQ starting at 6:50pm. Remember to follow along on twitter (@OHLBulls) for all game updates.
