LEAGUE PLAY:

Australia - W-League

Elli Reed and Keelin Winters each played 90 minutes with their respective sides as the Melbourne Victory defeated the Western Sydney Wanderers 3-0 on November 9. The Victory struck first in the fifth minute before doubling their lead just before half time. The Wanderers were unable to jumpstart a comeback as the Victory put away their third goal of the night in the second half. Lauren Barnes was unavailable for the Victory side due to an injury.

Match Report

Kendall Fletcher and Canberra United did well in their matchup against Sydney FC, defeating the Sky Blues 3-0 on November 9. Fletcher played 90 minutes in the victory, anchoring the backline to keep the visitors out of the net. The win moves Canberra United into second place in the W-League.

Winters and the Western Sydney Wanderers will now head on the road to face the league leaders, Perth Glory, on November 16. Barnes, Reed and Melbourne Victory will turn their attention to their home fixture against Brisbane Roar on November 15 while Fletcher and Canberra United will take their hot streak on the road against Newcastle Jets on November 15.
