Atlanta Gladiators News Release

DULUTH, Ga. - The Gladiators announced the signing of defenseman C.J. Chartrain on Monday. The defenseman was officially signed by the team on Saturday, but was scratched from both of the team's victories over the weekend.

Chartrain, 24, played 61 games for the Toledo Walleye in 2013-14, the second-most of any player on their roster. He collected three goals and seven assists over the course of that season. Most recently, Chartrain (pronounced SHAR-train) played in 15 games for the Hull Stingrays of the Elite Ice Hockey League in the United Kingdom.

The native of Pointe-Claire, Quebec spent four years with Niagara University of the Atlantic Hockey Association from 2009 to 2013. In all, he played in 139 contests, collecting 12 goals and 39 assists. He was also named to the AHA All-Academic Team in 2012 and 2013.

Chartrain will have his chance to make his Gladiators debut this weekend with three games scheduled in four days. Gwinnett will travel to Greenville for two games against the Road Warriors on Thursday and Friday, and will host the Florida Everblades for the third annual Stache Bash on Sunday at 2:05.

For tickets and schedule information, visit the official team website at www.gwinnettgladiators.com or call the main office line at 770-497-5100.

The Gladiators are members of the ECHL, the nation's premier "AA" hockey league, and are affiliated with the Arizona Coyotes of the NHL. All home games are played at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth - where parking is always free.

As Atlanta's "One and Only" professional hockey team, the Gladiators have established an extraordinary winning tradition and unrivaled commitment to excellence, maintaining a distinctive reputation for affordable and family-friendly sports entertainment.
