This Week

This Weekend Weekend
As hockey weather returns to the Wasatch Front, the Grizzlies are back home for weekend action Friday and Saturday with Ontario. Saturday is Angel's Hands Night and the Grizzlies will wear specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off for the Angel's Hands Foundation after the game.
Maverik Monday
The Grizzlies first Maverik Monday game of the year is Monday, November 17 against Ontario at 7 p.m. Fans presenting their Maverik Adventure Club Card will get tickets buy one get one free.
Breakout Game For Aubin
After going scoreless in the Grizzlies first eight games, Mathieu Aubin, the team's third leading scorer last year, tied the game in the third period Saturday with a breakaway goal, scored the Grizzlies game-winning goal in the shootout and assisted his longtime teammate Michael Pelech's team leading sixth goal of the season to give Utah a 1-0 lead one minute into the game.
Breakout Game For Grizzlies
After collecting a point in a shootout loss Friday, the Grizzlies forwards and defensemen played their most complete game of the year Saturday in a 4-3 shootout win over Ontario. They held the Reign to a season-low 18 shots on goal, including only three shots on goal in the second period. Outshooting Ontario 27-18 gave Utah their biggest shot differential of the year. The power-play scored a goal for the eight-straight game and the penalty-kill went 6-6, including kills late in the third period and late in overtime to force the shootout.
Scoring First
The Grizzlies scored the first goal in both games last weekend and are now 2-0-1-1 when scoring first this year. Friday, T.J. Syner scored Utah's first goal for the third time in a game this year. Utah is 1-0-1-1 when Syner scores the team's first goal. Utah has scored a first period goal in eight-straight games.
Ducks Goaltenders Called-Up
With Anaheim prospects Etienne Marcoux and Ryan Faragher called-up early last week following injuries in Anaheim, Head Coach/GM Tim Branham signed Joe Howe and Brandon Maxwell for last weekend's action. Howe, a second year pro from Colorado College, who went 10-3-4 last year with Cincinnati of the ECHL; turned in the Grizzlies best goaltending performance of the year by stopping 29 of 31 in the shootout loss to Stockton Friday. After struggling until late, Brandon Maxwell stopped two in overtime and all four in the shootout as the Grizzlies earned the 4-3 shootout win in Ontario Saturday.
Good Start For Rookie
Alex Krushelnyski, is already the Grizzlies leading candidate for the ECHL All-Star Game January in Orlando. The rookie out of Colorado College has one goal and four assists for five points in six games with Utah, having scored in five of six games played with the Grizzlies so far. He also earned his first AHL call-up of his career in October.
Even Scoring
11 Grizzlies skaters have scored goals so far this season, with ten of them having scored once or twice behind Pelech's six goals. Nine Grizzlies this year have one multiple-point game.
