Houston Dynamo Defender DaMarcus Beasley to Join United States National Team

HOUSTON (Monday, Nov. 10, 2014) - Houston Dynamo defender DaMarcus Beasley was named to the United States national team roster by head coach Jurgen Klinsmann on Monday for upcoming friendly matches against Colombia and the Republic of Ireland, the final U.S. national team games of 2014.
Beasley is the leading capwinner on the 25-player roster, with 120 career appearances for the United States. The left back started four games at the 2014 FIFA World Cup to become the first American to play in four World Cups. Beasley, 32, is tied for ninth in U.S. history with 17 goals and is eighth in assists with 13.
The U.S. will face Colombia, a 2014 World Cup quarterfinalist, on Friday, Nov. 14 at London's Craven Cottage, the home stadium of Fulham FC. Kickoff is set for 1:45 p.m. CT and the match will be broadcast on ESPN and UniMas. The Americans will then face the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Aviva Stadium in Dublin at 1:45 CT p.m. (ESPN2, Univison).
Beasley started 17 games with the U.S. men's national team in 2013, a career high, and was captain as the team won the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup, his fourth career Gold Cup title. Beasley debuted for the U.S. in 2001 at age 19 and has made at least one national team appearance for 13 consecutive years.
