Prospects to Participate in Central Canada Cup Challenge

Three Sudbury Wolves prospects were named to the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League roster on Monday that will represent the NOJHL at the upcoming Central Canada Cup Challenge from November 14-16 at the MasterCard Centre in Toronto. A total of two goaltenders, six defencemen and 12 forwards were selected by the Team NOJHL staff headed up by director of operations and current Soo Thunderbirds general manager Kevin Cain. Six of the nine teams that comprise the NOJHL had at least two players named to the squad.

Defencemen RYAN MOONEY and KHADYN BUTTERFLY and forward DYLAN CALLAGHAN will all participate in the three-day tournament. All three players currently play for the Sudbury Wolves' affiliate, the Sudbury Nickel Barons.

CALLAGHAN was selected in the 8th round of the 2012 OHL Priority selection by the Wolves. In 15 games with the Nickel Barons he has notched 4 goals and 2 assists as well as added 34 penalty minutes. He has also been called up to the Wolves for 5 games this season.

KHADYN BUTTERFLY was picked up by the Wolves as a free agent affiliated player last season. Butterfly has 12 points in 13 games with the Barons this season, including 6 goals and 6 assists.

MOONEY was selected in the 14th round of the 2014 OHL Priority selection by the Wolves. Ryan has scored 2 goals and added 9 assists for 11 points in 18 games to date for the Barons.
