Lowell Spinners News Release

LOWELL, MASS. - The Lowell Spinners, Class-A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, announced their schedule for the 2015 season Friday afternoon, their 20th season of baseball in Lowell. The season is once again presented by Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union as a title sponsor.

For the first time since 2013, the Spinners open the season on the road, starting the 2015 season with a six-game road trip June 19-24. The team kicks off their home slate Thursday, June 25 when they welcome the Aberdeen IronBirds, a Baltimore Orioles affiliate, to town for three games.

"It may be 135 days until the home opener at LeLacheur Park, but we are looking at it as just 135 days until Spinners baseball is back in Lowell," said Spinners President and General Manager Tim Bawmann. "We've already started the process of planning theme nights from Princesses to Super Heroes, while we think we've got a great promotional schedule in the works."

The team will play just one of their next nine games at home, hosting the Connecticut Tigers in a pre-Independence Day celebration with Post-Game Fireworks July 2, before playing a stretch of 10-of-14 games at home during a three-week stretch of July that sees the first ever visit from the West Virginia Black Bears (PIT), as well as series with the Tigers, Mahoning Valley Scrappers (CLE), Tri-City ValleyCats (HOU), including an 11:05am start July 22, and Auburn Doubledays (WAS).

The team is again busy in August, hosting the Brooklyn Cyclones (NYM) and Tigers August 3-8, the ValleyCats August 15-16. Following the All-Star Break, the Spinners welcome the Staten Island Yankees and Vermont Lake Monsters (OAK) August 21-26. The season concludes with the Hudson Valley Renegades (TB) August 30-September 1, and a Labor Day series with Vermont, concluding with a 1:05 start on September 7 to finish the regular season.

Friday Night Fireworks will return to LeLacheur in 2015, as will the team's popular Kids Eat Free Mondays and Weenie Wednesdays, featuring $1 Hot Dogs. A full promotional schedule will be released in the coming months.

Season Tickets for the 2015 season are on-sale now and the team's annual holiday sale will feature the release of five mini-plan packages and the popular "Flex" Tickets beginning Friday, November 28.

"Mini plans are built as the perfect holiday gift," said Bawmann. "Packages start at six games, so with one package, you can break the plan into six separate games: five for gifts, one for yourself. It is my perfect idea of holiday shopping."
