Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
DUBUQUE, IA-Jacob Nehama's solid start to the 2014-2015 season has earned the attention of the United States Hockey League. The USHL named its weekly award winners today, and after a two-win weekend over the Fargo Force, the league announced that Nehama has been named the Reebok Goaltender of the Week.
The Allen, Texas native appeared in both games for the Fighting Saints last weekend, earning his second USHL shutout in a 3-0 win over Fargo on Friday. He stopped all 19 shots faced in the victory. The following night, Nehama won in relief, stopping 20 shots in his two periods of action, leading Dubuque to a 4-2 comeback victory. Nehama has been in goal for all of Dubuque's victories this season, and has posted a perfect 7-0-0 record with a 1.92 goals against average and a .918 save percentage. The seven victories ties Nehama for the USHL lead.
Nehama, who was invited to Dubuque's main camp as a free agent this summer, is 12-7-2 in 26 career USHL games with Lincoln and Dubuque. He is the second Fighting Saint to win a USHL weekly honor this season. Teammate Brett Boeing was named the CCM Forward of the Week on October 6.
