Morristown, N.J. (Monday, November 3, 2014) - Sky Blue FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) officially announced on Monday that the team has entered a partnership with New Jersey Youth Soccer (NJYS) for its Girls Young Olympians Program. Developed in 2013, the Young Olympians was created specifically for the U-11 and U-12 age groups, providing training curriculum that is mirrored after the Olympic Development Program (ODP) that is executed by NJYS.

"Being the only professional women's soccer club in New Jersey, it makes perfect sense for our two organizations to work together in promoting the beautiful game," said Tony Novo, President and General Manager of Sky Blue FC. "New Jersey Youth Soccer has developed players who have excelled at every level of our sport, including here with us at Sky Blue FC and also with the U.S. Women's National Team. We are very excited to see what the future holds for women's soccer in the State of New Jersey as we combine our efforts with the growth of the game as our main focus."

As part of the partnership, members of the Sky Blue FC coaching staff will participate in the regional tryouts for the Young Olympians Program that will be conducted on November 15th and 22nd, assisting NJYS with player evaluations. The Sky Blue FC coaching staff will also be involved in winter and spring training sessions. Additionally, all trialists for the Young Olympians will receive a complimentary ticket to Sky Blue FC's opening home match of the 2015 NWSL season.

"Incorporating Sky Blue FC's professional coaching and training experience into our ODP program offers an additional layer of expertise specifically geared to our growing girls program," said Rick Meana, Director of Coaching for NJ Youth Soccer. "Girls playing soccer today need to have proper role models in our sport; Sky Blue FC offers that to our program."

All U-11 and U-12 girls who are interested in attending the November tryouts for the NJYS Young Olympians Program can sign up by visiting the NJYS Young Olympians sign-up page.
