Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI--Goalie Magnus Hellberg stopped 25 of 26 shots, including 12 in the third period to help the Admirals snap a two-game losing streak with a 4-1 win over the Chicago Wolves in Amtrak Rivalry action on Sunday afternoon.
The win give the Ads a split in the home-and-home set with Chicago and got Milwaukee back on the winning track after they lost twice earlier this week.
After a scoreless first period, the Admirals broke the stalemate on a power-play marker from Victor Stalberg. With Stalberg stationed at the right post Viktor Arvidsson held the puck at the top of the left circle. He sent a slap pass right to Stalberg's tape and he chipped it by Chicago goalie Matt Clime for a 1-0 lead at 8:37 of the second.
Milwaukee pushed their lead to 2-0 just over two minutes later when Felix Gerard gathered a loose puck just in front of the crease, drew it from his backhand to his forehand and wrapped it around Climie's outstretched leg at 10:58.
Colton Sissons made it 3-0 with less than four minutes to play in the game when he took a cross-ice pass from Stalberg and deflected it top shelf past Climie.
The Wolves got their lone goal of the game with 63 seconds to play when Terry Broadhurst scored during a 6-on-4 advantage. However, Mike Liambas snuffed out any hope of a comeback with an empty net goal at 19:34 of the third.
Stalberg finished the night with a goal and an assist, while Arvidsson and Brendan Leipsic each chipped in a pair of assists. Hellberg has now given up just two goals in two appearances this season, improving his record to 2-0.
The Admirals are back in action next Friday night when they host the Grand Rapids Griffins at 7 pm at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
