Santa Cruz Warriors News Release

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors, the official D-League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors, made seven selections during the 2014 NBA D-League Draft, marking the third D-League draft in the city's history.

Elliot Williams, a 6'5" guard from Memphis, was selected second overall by the Santa Cruz Warriors as the team prepares to tip-off its campaign. Williams was picked 22nd in the first round of the 2010 NBA Draft by the Portland Trailblazers, but missed the entire 2010-11 season due to a knee injury. Williams missed a significant portion of the 2011-12 NBA season after dislocating his shoulder, but made 24 appearances over the course of that season, averaging 3.7 points per game. Williams last played for the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2013-14 season, appearing in 67 games and averaging 6 points per game.

"Elliot Williams is a tremendous athlete," said Santa Cruz Warriors Head Coach Casey Hill. "With his prior NBA experience and his desire to improve his game in any facet possible, we recognize him as a huge addition to our team. We look forward to having him in Santa Cruz and know that he will grow and benefit from time in the D-League."

Carrick Felix, a 6'6" shooting guard from Arizona State, was the fourth pick of the first round and the Santa Cruz Warriors' second overall draft pick. Felix was selected with the 33rd overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers and appeared in 7 contests, averaging 2.7 points per game.

"Carrick is an elite level athlete that has proven to be a valuable member of every team he has been a part of, from college to the pros," said Head Coach Casey Hill. "We are really looking forward to helping him get back to the NBA. The Santa Cruz fans should be excited about this guy."
