Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release

PENSACOLA, FL. (October 31, 2014) - The Pensacola Ice Flyers hosted the Peoria Rivermen Friday night at the Pensacola Bay Center and came away with another shutout performance from goaltender, Max Strang, and a 6-0 victory.

Ice Flyers' rookie Cody Ferriero opened the scoring just 1:39 after the opening faceoff. His linemates connected near the mid-way point of the first when Corey Banfield set up Adam Pawlick for his fourth goal in the first three games.

The second period drew to a close with no scoring, but Banfield scored his first of the night a mere 1:21 into the third. That line continued its offensiveness as Banfield and Ferriero assisted on Pawlick's second of the game. Banfield scored his second of the campaign with 2:55 remaining in the game, followed by Paul Rodrigues less than a minute later.

Strang was solid in net once again, recorded his second consecutive shutout in front of the home crowd. He stopped all 21 shots he faced from Peoria, and now has allowed just two goals in the three regular season games the Ice Flyers have played this season.

The same two teams will face off again Saturday night at the Bay Center at 7:05 p.m. for Military Appreciation Night. All military members that show their military ID will receive 50% off center ice tickets for them and their families.
