Los Angeles D-Fenders News Release
EL SEGUNDO - The Los Angeles D-Fenders today acquired Vander Blue from the Idaho Stampede in exchange for a 2014 second round draft pick (36th overall), it was announced by D-Fenders General Manager Nick Mazzella. The second round draft pick was originally acquired by the D-Fenders from Bakersfield earlier today.
Blue (6'4", 200), hails from Madison, Wisconsin and played collegiately at Marquette University. Undrafted in 2013, Blue joined the Delaware 87ers on January 14, 2014. On January 22, 2014, Blue signed a 10-day contract with the Boston Celtics, appearing in three games before being assigned to the Maine Red Claws. In 27 D-League games, Blue averaged 16.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.3 steals in 29.4 minutes per game. Blue scored a career-high 47 points on March 2, 2014 shooting 10-18 from the field and 6-11 from three point range.
