Springfield Falcons to Honor Head Equipment Manager Ralph Calvanese

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons will honor Head Equipment Manager Ralph Calvanese's 3,000th American Hockey League regular season game on Friday, Nov. 7 when the Falcons take on the St. John's IceCaps at 7 p.m.

Calvanese will be honored with a ceremony prior to puck drop. The ceremony will feature a series of special presentations recognizing this milestone in Calvanese's career.

Calvanese is the first AHL equipment manager to work 3,000 games in the league in the same city. He started his career as a stick boy with the Springfield Kings during the 1974-75 season. Calvanese took over as trainer and equipment manger the following season. The Springfield, Massachusetts native has worked with three different franchises, the Kings, Indians and Falcons, all in Springfield and has been part of three Calder Cup Championship teams with the Indians in 1975, 1990 and 1991. Nov. 7 will mark Calvanese's 3,000th AHL regular season game.
