Blast Announce Two Player Signings

Baltimore, MD- Baltimore Blast President and General Manager, Kevin Healey, announced today that the team has signed two new players. The new Blast players are defender Kaoru Forbess and goalkeeper Phil Saunders. The Baltimore Blast will be playing in the newly formed Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) this coming season which will have 23 teams throughout the United States and Mexico.

Defender Kaoru Forbess will be entering his second season of professional soccer. Kaoru played last season for the Harrisburg Heat of the PASL. He played in 7 games for the Heat recording 6 points and he had 5 assists. Forbess played four years of college soccer at the University of Maryland. He was also a member of the U-18 U.S. National team.

Goalkeeper Phil Saunders is a local product out of Perry Hall High School and UMBC. Saunders is also entering his second season of professional soccer as he played outdoor soccer for BÍ BolungarvÃ-k of the Icelandic First Division. At UMBC, Phil was selected to America East Second Team and All-Championship Team for two consecutive seasons. He is currently second place on UMBC's all-time shutouts list with 24. At Perry Hall High School he was an all state selection.

The Baltimore Blast will kick off the regular season at home at the Royal Farms Arena on November 8th versus the Syracuse Silver Knights.
