Deaconess and IceMen Announce No Shave November Press Conference Thursday

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light, are proud to partner with Deaconess Hospitals for the their annual No Shave November Campaign. The full details of this annual event will be announced at a press conference on Thursday, Oct.30, at 2 p.m. in the auditorium of the Deaconess Main Campus (located at the intersection of Mary & Virginia).

Deaconess and the Evansville IceMen encourage all men in the Tri-State area to put down their razors during the month of November to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancers as part of No Shave November. The Evansville IceMen organization will participate in No Shave November, and will help raise money for the Deaconess Foundation Cancer Care fund.

Deaconess Hospitals Facts about Prostate/ Testicular Cancer

- Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men (aside from skin cancer). In fact, one man in seven will develop prostate cancer during his lifetime.

- Testicular cancer is not as common as prostate cancer, but it can be particularly serious because it often occurs in very young men. Almost half of all cases of testicular cancer are in men between the ages of 20 and 34, but it can occur in men of all ages.

The IceMen will have places for fans to donate to the Deaconess Foundation Cancer Care Fund starting at their game on Saturday, Nov.1 against the Indy Fuel and continuing at every November home game. The first 5,000 fans through the doors will this Saturday receive a foam beard to commemorate the kick-off of the No Shave November Campaign.
