"We were happy that the boys were able to put together some quality soccer over the weekend road trip," said D.C. United U18 Head Coach Tom Torres. "While both matches didn't bring the desired results, the players were very good in overall possession and created some excellent scoring opportunities. Unfortunately, we were not able to finish a high percentage and had some trouble dealing with some effective counter-attacks. We have several topics to address before the Philadelphia Union match and we know that the boys are looking forward to another MLS Academy fixture."

U-16s

0-1 loss against BSC CT Academy on Saturday

1-3 loss against Oakwood SC on Sunday Goal Scorer [Name (Hometown; Previous Club)]

Raheem Lawal (Falls Church, Va.; Annandale)

"It was a disappointing weekend from a results standpoint but obviously it will serve as a learning experience for the group," said D.C. United U16 Head Coach Jonathan Frias. "We had good moments in both matches but played against two organized opponents who exposed us on the counter. There are a lot of takeaways from the weekend and we will work hard to iron out some of those this week in training prior to an important test next Sunday against another MLS academy side."

U-14s

4-1 win against PA Classics

Goal Scorer [Name (Hometown; Previous Club)]

Michael Gaines (2) (Waldorf, Md.; Maryland United)

Kyle Davis (Bowie, Md.; Maryland United)

Ryan Jones (Bethesda, Md.; Bethesda Soccer Club)

"We played very well against PA Classics this past weekend," said D.C. United U14 Head Coach Jeff Carroll. "We came out strong and had good counter attacks. We also controlled the middle of the field very well and Michael Gaines had an overwhelming performance and so did the rest of the team."

U-12s

1-4 loss against Ukrainian Nationals Zoria Black

Goal Scorer [Name (Hometown; Previous Club)]

Lucas Smith (Washington, D.C.; CFC Express Red)

"Luca Smith struck first in the 17th minute and then Ukrainian Nationals Zoria Black quickly answered in the 23rd minute to tie the game," said D.C. United U12 Head Coach Dave Sanford. "They were very organized defensively and provided a very physical match up for us. Overall, it was a good exercise for our boys that will ultimately be positive for their development."
