For Special Teams Award, All You Need Is Love

October 28, 2014 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
Calgary Stampeders News Release

The Stampeders' Glenn Love has been named the Canadian Football League' special teams player of the week.

The second-year Stampeder out of UCLA was honoured for his performance in Calgary's 40-27 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday. Love recorded a career-high four special-teams tackles during the contest and was part of Calgary coverage teams that limited the Roughriders to a 6.1-yard average on five punt returns and a 20.0-yard average on six kickoff returns.

Love has recorded multiple special-teams tackles in six games this season and his total of 17 places him second on the Stampeders to Karl McCartney. Love is part of a solid Calgary punt coverage unit that has allowed a league-low 7.4 yards per return this season.

Love's weekly award is the 13th for a Stampeders player this season.
