October 27, 2014 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Frederick Keys News Release

FREDERICK, MD-Garabez Rosa turned in three straight multi-hit games, while Zach Davies put together another fine outing for the Glendale Desert Dogs during week three of the Arizona Fall League. Following a 1-for-13 start, Rosa has hit over .400 in his last six games. Davies has also excelled of late, and is among the AFL's leaders in strikeouts and innings pitched.

Rosa has been one of the Fall League's top hitters over the last seven days. On Friday night, he completed a string of three straight multi-hit games. During that stretch, he went 8-for-16 with two home runs, a double, six RBIs and four runs scored. In the process, he raised his average from .150 to .286. The highlight of that streak came on October 22 against Peoria, when Rosa went 3-for-4 with a home run, an RBI and two runs scored. A member of the Keys from 2011-12, the 25-year-old has also hit safely in five of his last six contests.

Following a tough start to the AFL slate, Davies turned in four more shutout innings on Friday night against Salt River. Receiving a no-decision, the right-hander scattered four hits, walked one and struck out five to lower his ERA from 4.16 to 2.84. Since October 13, Davies has worked 10 straight innings without allowing a run. During that time has allowed just seven hits, walked five and struck out 14. Currently, he is tied for fourth in the league in strikeouts (14) and rates seventh in innings pitched (12.2).

Parker Bridwell saw his scoreless innings streak come to an end at 7.1 frames last Tuesday against Scottsdale. A member of Frederick's pitching staff this past season, the Texan has pitched exclusively out of the bullpen. Meanwhile, Michael Ohlman is batting .353 over his first six games with Glendale. The Carolina League batting champion in 2013, Ohlman hit .313 over 100 games with the Keys.
