October 26, 2014 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Dallas Sidekicks News Release
Allen, Texas--The Dallas Sidekicks were given the honor of hosting the first ever game in the Major Arena Soccer League on Saturday night. The Kicks also learned just how much better the completion will be as the Missouri Comets defeated Dallas 13-4 in front of 4,008 fans. Fabinho celebrated his return to Dallas by scoring the Sidekicks opening goal of the season. The 37 year old defender played for the original Sidekicks in 2003-04. Jamie Lovegrove, Cameron Brown and Shaun David also scored for the Sidekicks.
The club honored breast cancer survivors by playing in specially designed pink jerseys, which were auctioned off after the game with the proceeds being donated to Susan G. Komen, a non-profit foundation dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer education, research, advocacy, and social support programs. The auction raised over $2,200.
The Sidekicks will return to action next Saturday night, November 1st when they host the Wichita B-52s (0-0) at 7:05 P.M. at the Allen Event Center. The game will be broadcast on Time Warner Cable Sports Channel (Dallas - Ch 185 or 148 in HD; El Paso - Ch 24; Rest of Texas - Ch 888). The game will also be broadcast outside of Texas on ESPN3.com as part of the MASL Game of the Week series.
