Royals Top Giants on Pink in the Rink Night

Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals scored the game-winning goal late in the third period to drop the Vancouver Giants 3-2 on Saturday, during Pink in the Rink Night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

Royals' winger Austin Carroll scored two goals including the game winner with 6:33 left in the final frame. The other Victoria marker was tallied by Taylor Crunk who scored his first goal of the season in the first period. The Giants' markers were scored by Matt Bellerive and Mason Geertsen.

Royals' goaltender Coleman Vollrath stopped 29 out of 31 shots in his 14th start of the season. Giants' netminder Payton Lee turned away 23 of 26 shots on net.

Victoria went 1/4 25% on powerplay opportunities, while Vancouver went 1/3 33.3%.

The Royals continue their five-game home stand Tuesday night vs. the Brandon Wheat Kings. This contest marks the first and only game between the two clubs this season. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
