Make It Two in a Row; Rebels Win 5-1 over Moose Jaw

The Rebels welcomed the Warriors to the Enmax Centrium looking to avenge a 3-0 loss in Moose Jaw on October 2.

FIRST PERIOD

After very few shots through the first half of the opening period, the Rebels opened the scoring in this one. Wyatt Johnson snuck a shot past Justin Paulic for his 6th goal of the year, 3rd of the weekend, at the 13:25 mark. Conner Bleackley set up the 1-0 goal, extending his point streak to five games, along with Grayson Pawlenchuk.

SECOND PERIOD

The Warriors netted a shorthanded goal to nod this game at 1-1. Jaimen Yakubowski pulled off a beautiful toe drag before sliding a pass over to Kolten Olynek who beat Rylan Toth for his first goal of the year at the 2:55 mark.

Red Deer regained the lead at 8:13 when Bleackley fired one through the five hole of Justin Paulic for his third of the year. Jef de Wit picked up the lone assist on the 2-1 goal.

For the second straight night, Evan Polei benefitted from a great Adam Musil pass. This time it ended with his 5th goal of the season. Austin Strand earned the second assist on the 3-1 goal at 13:33.

The Rebels went up 4-1 at 17:31 as Meyer Nell tipped home a slick Kayle Doetzel slap pass for his 3rd of the year. Austin Strand collected the second assist.

THIRD PERIOD

The Rebels scored their third shorthanded goal of the season when Scott Feser capped off a 2-on-1 with Bleackley with his 3rd goal of the year at 3:18. Just like that, Red Deer was up 5-1 and would go on to win their second straight home game.
