OFF THE TOP: The Saskatoon Blades (4-7-0) continue a season-long six-game homestand tonight as they face off against the Lethbridge Hurricanes (2-8-1). ... The Hurricanes are coming off a stunner, defeating the defending Memorial Cup Champion Edmonton Oil Kings 2-1 in a shootout this past Wednesday night at Rexall Place. Stuart Skinner made 46 saves, in addition to a perfect, three-for-three effort in the shootout, stoning Lane Bauer, Brett Pollock and Edgars Kulda. ... Jamal Watson scored the shootout winner. ... Riley Sheen leads the Hurricanes in scoring, tallying three goals and five assists for eight points in 11 games.

LAST TIME OUT: Nik Amundrud recorded his first-career win in the Western Hockey League, posting 31 saves in a 5-2 victory over the Kootenay Ice. Offensively, Alex Forsberg scored twice, while Cameron Hebig (first of the season), Isaac Schacher (first as a Blade) and Josh Uhrich (first as a Blade) did the rest, securing the Blades' fourth win in five games. ... For the second straight game, Forsberg tallied a pair of goals, extended his lead in team scoring to 10 points (6G, 4A) in 11 games. ... The Blades are now only two points out of the eighth and final playoff spot, trailing the Eastern Division rival Prince Albert Raiders.

BETWEEN THE PIPES: Alex Moodie will get the start in goal tonight for the Blades. The 19-year-old has a 3-2-0 record with a 4.00 goals-against average and .879 save percentage, and has a combined 97 saves in his three victories this year. Amundrud, coming off his first-career win, will back him up.

SPECIAL SPECIAL TEAMS: The Blades' power-play continues to produce, operating at a 25 percent clip (10-for-40), good enough for fourth in the league. The PK has been equally as productive of late, coming off a perfect (4-for-4) night vs. Kootenay and improving to 14th with a 78.6 percent success rate.

GOING STREAKING: Alex Forsberg is now on a four-game point streak. He has five goals and seven points in that span dating back to Oct. 15's road win over the Swift Current Broncos. ... Sam McKechnie is also on a four-game point streak, recording two goals and six points in the same stretch.

INJURY REPORT: Nick Zajac (upper body) has missed the past two games and is questionable for tonight's contest; Ryan Coghlan (shoulder) left Wednesday's game after a second-period fight with Ice forward River Beattie. Coghlan is day-to-day and will not play tonight.

RECENT TRANSACTIONS: Reassigned defenceman Cole Bevan to the Coquitlam Express of the BCHL (Junior A) on Oct. 18.

MILESTONES: Blades captain Brett Stovin played his 200th career WHL game on Saturday, Oct. 18 vs. Edmonton.

UP NEXT: The Blades wrap up their six-game homestand with dates against the Portland Winterhawks (Saturday, Oct. 25, 7:05pm) and Moose Jaw Warriors (Tuesday, Oct. 28, 7:05pm).
