Bridgeport Islanders News Release

BRIDGEPORT, CONN. - The New York Islanders announced today that forward Colin McDonald has been loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

McDonald, 30, will commence his second stint in Bridgeport after spending the past two years on Long Island. McDonald was last with the Sound Tigers during the 2012-13 season, when he served as team captain during the National Hockey League lockout. He had 27 points (6 G, 21 A) with the Sound Tigers in 35 games.

The Wethersfield, Conn., native is a second round draft pick of the Edmonton Oilers and has played for the Oilers, Penguins and Islanders in the NHL. He has played more than 125 games at the NHL level and 400+ in the American Hockey League.

Prior to playing professional hockey, McDonald attended Providence College and stayed all four years. Before that, he played for the now-defunct New England Junior Coyotes of the Eastern Junior Hockey League who played their games out of Enfield, Conn.
