New York Red Bulls News Release
HARRISON, NJ (October 22, 2014) - Connor Lade scored in the 84th minute on Wednesday night as New York closed out CONCACAF Champions League group play with a 1-1 draw against the Montreal Impact.
Final Group 3 Standings
1. Montreal Impact 3-0-1, 10 pts.

New York, which has already clinched a spot in the 2014 MLS Cup Playoffs, returns to MLS regular season action on Sunday, October 26, when the team travels to Sporting Park to take on Sporting Kansas City in the club's regular season finale. Kickoff is set for 8:30 PM ET with ESPN2 televising the game nationally. With Sporting KC just two points ahead of New York, a Red Bulls win could improve their playoff seed.
Playoff dates and playoff scenarios for RBNY's playoff run
Ruben Bover had the best chance for either team in the first half in the 34th minute. Bover cut onto his left foot from just inside the area and bent a shot towards the near post, but Evan Bush went to ground to make the save and keep the score tied at 0-0.
Marius Obekop nearly put the Red Bulls ahead in the second half as well with a bid in the 54th minute. Chris Duvall found Obekop inside the 18-yard-box. The Cameroonian cut the ball back onto his left foot and curled a shot towards the far post, but his attempt sailed just high.
Jack McInerney found the game's first goal in the 71st minute to give Montreal a 1-0 lead. Andres Romero played a ball across the face of goal from the left wing to an open McInerney off the back post and he tapped home the goal.
The Red Bulls would find an equalizer late with Lade scoring in the 84th minute. Bover played a set piece towards the back post and Armando flicked a header to Lade, who finished a right-footed shot to level the score at 1-1.
