Ruben Bover had the best chance for either team in the first half in the 34th minute. Bover cut onto his left foot from just inside the area and bent a shot towards the near post, but Evan Bush went to ground to make the save and keep the score tied at 0-0.

Marius Obekop nearly put the Red Bulls ahead in the second half as well with a bid in the 54th minute. Chris Duvall found Obekop inside the 18-yard-box. The Cameroonian cut the ball back onto his left foot and curled a shot towards the far post, but his attempt sailed just high.

The Red Bulls would find an equalizer late with Lade scoring in the 84th minute. Bover played a set piece towards the back post and Armando flicked a header to Lade, who finished a right-footed shot to level the score at 1-1.
