Tuesday, October 21st, 7:00pm @ Edmonton - Tuesday night marks the first of six meetings between the Hurricanes and defending WHL and Memorial Cup Champion Oil Kings. Lethbridge is coming off a loss to Regina on Saturday while Edmonton defeated Saskatoon 6-4 for their 4th straight win. The Hurricanes are led offensively by Riley Sheen who has 8 points in 10 games, while Brett Pollock and Cole Benson each have 9 points for the OK's. During the 2013-2014 season, Lethbridge won the first meeting between the two division rivals 8-5 before Edmonton came back to win the next 5 in the series. Jamal Watson and Riley Sheen both had 3 points vs. the OK's.

Friday, October 24th, 7:00pm @ Saskatoon - The Hurricanes and Saskatoon Blades will face each other 4 times this season. They met four times in 2013-2014 with the Hurricanes posting a 1-3 record against the Blades. The Hurricanes won their first meeting 8-5, before Saskatoon came back with a pair of 5-2 wins and a 6-3 victory. Tyler Wong led the way offensively against Saskatoon with 7 points (5G, 2A) in the 4 games, while Jamal Watson (3G) and Griffin Foulk (3A) each added 3 points.

Saturday, October 25th, 7:00pm @ Prince Albert - The Hurricanes only managed 12 wins all season last year, but 2 of their wins came against Prince Albert (3-1 on Dec. 6th and 3-2 on January 29th). The teams will play each other 4 times again this season. Riley Sheen had 4 points (1G, 3A) against the Raiders while Prince Albert native Bryton Sayers had 3 points (1G, 2A).

Sunday, October 26th, 6:00pm @ Regina - It's the second meeting in a week between Lethbridge and Regina. The Pats skated to a 6-1 win on Saturday night. Lethbridge was 0/6 on the PP that night while Regina was 2/4 and Stuart Skinner made 29 saves in the loss. The remaining two games will be played December 17th in Regina and January 31st at the ENMAX Centre.

The week that was: The Hurricanes played back to back games this past weekend starting with the Victoria Royals on Friday night. The game once again saw the return of Axel Blomqvist to the ENMAX Centre. The former Cane opened the scoring in the final minute of the period and the Royals added to their lead in the 2nd. Lethbridge came back to tie the game in the 2nd on goals from Tyler Wong and Giorgio Estephan, but two more goals in the 3rd sealed a 4-2 win for Victoria. Zac Robidoux made 29 saves in the loss.

Saturday night it was the Regina Pats in town. Carter Folk was sprung on a breakaway in the first giving the Canes the early lead, but it didn't last. The Pats added another goal late in the first period, then struck 3 more times in the 3rd for a 4-1 lead. Regina would seal the game for good with a pair of goals in the 3rd to in 6-1.

The Hurricanes also celebrated Pink in the Rink weekend with the staff, coaches and trainers all wearing pink as well as the players sporting pink laces and tape. To benefit the Canadian Cancer Society a $10,000 Chuck a Puck was held Friday, a 50/50 toonie toss on Saturday and a progressive silent auction was held. In total over $6,000 was raised with money going to benefit the Canadian Cancer Society. The Lethbridge Hurricanes would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to all the businesses who generously donated to our silent auction as well as all the fans who participated in all events.

Zane Jones played in his 200th game (Oct. 18th vs. Regina) ... Lenny Hackman played his 150th career WHL game (Oct. 8th vs. PG) ... Riley Sheen is 8 games from 200. Points: Jamal Watson is 1 point from 100...Riley Sheen has 100 points in his WHL career (Oct. 11th vs. Kelowna)

Jamal Watson is the longest serving Hurricane on the roster with 214 games played, the career record of games played is 336 by Shane Peacock (1989-94)

NEWS & NOTES:

U17 Hockey Challenge: Stuart Skinner was named the goalie for Canada Team Black at the U17 Hockey Challenge scheduled for November 2nd - 8th in Sarnia-Lambton, ON. The 1998-born goalie is one of 66 players named to the three Canadian rosters. The tournament will be the first to feature three Canadian national teams - Black, Red and White. From 1986 to 2014, Canada was represented by five regional teams: Atlantic, Ontario, Pacific, Quebec and West.

NHL's Watchful Eye: 2nd year Centre, Giorgio Estephan has caught the eye of the NHL's Central Scouting Bureau. On the preliminary Draft Watch List for the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, the 6'0, 184 pound native of Edmonton was listed as a WHL "C" skater indicating a 4th to 6th round candidate. Estephan was drafted in the 1st round (4th overall) by Lethbridge in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft and last year finished with 24 points (12G, 12A) in 64 games.

NHL Camps: Nick Walters signed an Amateur Tryout Agreement with the Columbus Blue Jackets and attended their Prospects Camp in September where he competed at the NHL Prospect Tournament in Traverse City, Michigan.

Trading Block: The Hurricanes completed a 6-player swap September 30th sending Reid Duke, Macoy Erkamps and prospect Tak Anholt to the Brandon Wheat Kings for C - Ryley Lindgren, LW - Brett Kitt and D - Kord Pankewicz. Lindgren had 17 points (9G, 8A) in 67 games last season while Kitt added 10 point in 37 games and Pankewicz had 8 points in 35 games. Earlier, on October 25th, the Hurricanes sent their 4th round Bantam pick in 2015 to the Everett Silvertips in exchange for O/A left winger Zane Jones. The 6'3, 210 pound 20-year old from Olds has played 192 career WHL games registering 104 points (48G, 56A) to go along with a plus-11 +/- rating and 183 penalty minutes.

Oh Captain my Captain: The Lethbridge Hurricanes announced 4th year veteran and Calgary native Jamal Watson as the 24th Captain in franchise history. The team named the 6 assistants who will wear the "˜A' either at home or on the road. The Assistants are: Riley Sheen, Nick Walters, Zane Jones, Lenny Hackman, Tyler Wong and Carter Folk.

By the Numbers: The Canes have 27 on their roster: 2 Goalies, 8 Defencemen and 17 Forwards.

Age Breakdown: 3 - 20 year olds, 5 - 19 year olds, 12 - 18 year olds, 5 - 17 year olds and 2 - 16 year olds. Rookies include (Nikita Milekhin, Pavel Skumatov, Jaeger White, Brandon Kennedy, Andrew Nielsen, Zac Robidoux and Stuart Skinner)
