Syracuse Silver Knights News Release

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse Silver Knights of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) have announced the signings of midfielder Kenardo Forbes, defender Domenico Vitale and goalkeeper Rick Pflasterer.

Silver Knights Midfielder, Kenardo Forbes, Jamaican, First Team All-MISL.

Forbes returns for his fourth year with the Silver Knights. The Jamaican made 20 appearances for the club last season, tallying 24 goals with 14 assists en route to a spot on the All-MISL First Team.

According to Head Coach Tommy Tanner, the Jamaican delivered everything that was expected of him.

"Kenardo has blossomed into the player I thought he would be when we signed him in year one. He's one of the top two or three midfielders in the league," Tanner Explained.

Luckily for Tanner, the Reggae Boyz-capped player keeps his sights high this year.

"My expectations for the team are to reach the playoffs and contend for a championship. That should again be the main focus of each and every player in the organization," Forbes said. "We have the talent to do it."

Look out for the midfielder to break through and score more goals for the Salt City side as he adjusts to the team's new league.

Silver Knights Defender, Domenico Vitale, Cicero North Syracuse, Former Le Moyne College Dolphin.

Vitale was an unexpected surprise for the Silver Knights in his first year as a professional. The Cicero, New York native won the squad's Rookie of the Year award in the 2013-2014 campaign, which saw the defender appear in all 20 matches. Vitale's high point came in a 24-7 victory against the Pennsylvania Roar, when he notched his first career goal and assist.

The defender has experience playing in Central New York with Le Moyne College, Albany Black Watch and Greater Binghamton FC, alongside Syracuse teammate Bo Jelovac.

Silver Knights Goalkeeper, Rick Pflasterer, Ann Arbor, Michigan

Pflasterer joins the Knights for his second year in the Orange, Silver and Black. The former Cornell goalkeeper ended his career with the Big Red with the eighth-most saves in team history (165), second-most wins (28), third lowest goals against average (0.77) and second-most shutouts (17).

Pflasterer made his indoor soccer debut in a spot start for Bryan O'Quinn, earning a 20-8 win against the rival Rochester Lancers on November 23, 2013.

Expect the 2012 All Ivy League goalie to spell regular starter Bryan O'Quinn for some games and settle in to the indoor game.
