Meet the Houston Astros Front Office at Chukchansi Park on October 23

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, have announced an event that will introduce the Houston Astros front office to the Central Valley. The free event, which is open to the public, is scheduled for Thursday, October 23rd at Chukchansi Park, with gate 2 opening at 6:30 p.m. A question-and-answer session with the Astros front office will begin shortly after a 7:00 p.m. address by Grizzlies Executive Vice President Derek Franks.

The question-and-answer session features Astros President of Business Operations Reid Ryan, Director of Player Personnel Quinton McCracken and Assistant Director of Player Personnel Allen Rowin. ABC30 sportscaster David Bataller will moderate the discussion and question-and-answer session.

The event also gives fans a peek at the initial images of the Grizzlies new home uniform.

Those attending the event can find free parking in the H street lot.

Additional information on the members of the Houston Astros front office coming to Fresno:

Reid Ryan was named president of business operations for the Houston Astros on May 17, 2013. Previously, he served as President and CEO of Ryan Sanders Baseball, owners and operators of the Triple-A Round Rock Express and Double-A Corpus Christi Hooks Baseball Clubs. Ryan also spent his time in Minor League Baseball serving as a trustee of the Texas League, a member of the Pacific Coast League executive committee, and as the Finance Chairman for MiLB.

Quinton McCracken was named director of player development for the Houston Astros on October 19, 2012. Prior to joining the Astros, McCracken spent two seasons (2011-12) working with the Arizona Diamondbacks as an Assistant Director of Player Development. He played 12 seasons in the Major Leagues with the Colorado Rockies (1995-97), Tampa Bay Devil Rays (1998-2000), Minnesota Twins (2001), Arizona Diamondbacks (2002-05), Seattle Mariners (2004) and Cincinnati Reds (2006). For his career, he batted .274 with 21 home runs, 244 RBI and 89 stolen bases over 999 career games.

Allen Rowin was promoted to assistant director of player personnel on October 19, 2012. Prior to his current position, he had served as the Astros coordinator of player development, during which time he oversaw the building of the Astros complex in the Dominican Republic that opened in May of 2010. His first position in MLB was as a community relations intern for the Padres in 2006. Allen, who is fluent in Spanish, received his bachelor's degree from UCLA before earning his MBA with a concentration in Sports Business Management at San Diego St. University.
