Cadorette, Laplante and Bureau named the three stars of the week

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, October 20, 2014 - Philippe Cadorette, Yan Pavel Laplante and Alex Bureau were named today, the three stars of the week for October 13 to 19, 2014.

Philippe Cadorette, goalkeeper for the Baie-Comeau Drakkar is the first star of the week. He got a perfect record of 3 wins, with back to back shutouts, a goals against average of 0.65 and a save percentage of .980. He started the week on Thursday with a 4-0 win over the Quebec Remparts then came back with another shutout on Friday, this time against the Rimouksi Océanic. He was named the first star of the game making 41 saves for his third shutout of the season and 13th in his QMJHL career, two behind the record of 15, held by Ryan Mior. Sunday, again against Rimouski, he helped his team with a 3-2 win in a shootout and a 7th consecutive win. He is tied in first position for his save percentage of .921.

The second star of the week is awarded to Yan Pavel Laplante, Victoriaville Tigres forward. In 2 games, both against the Shawinigan Cataractes, he collected 5 points. Friday, in the first home and home game, he scored the game winning goal in a 4-1 win. He finished the match with 2 goals, 1 assist, and was named the second star. Sunday, he got one goal, one assist and was named the first star of the game in a 4-3 win.

The Sherbrooke Phoenix goaltender, Alex Bureau is the third star of the week. In 2 games, he got 2 wins, had a goals against average of 1.44 and a save percentage of .945. Thursday against the Shawinigan Cataractes, he made 26 saves in a 7-1 win. Against the Drummondville Voltigeurs on Friday, he was named the third star with 28 saves in a 3-2 shootout win.
